Testing, Travel, Death, and the whole crazy thing!

As I type this I'm sitting in the beautiful LONE STAR state, how cool is that? I just did an interview for another agency yesterday and am spending the weekend with Miss Sunshine, and having a great time so far. It's kindof crazy to me but this is only my first of two flights to Texas just this month. I LOVE IT!!

As for the death, I have suffered a tragic but bittersweet personal loss as of late. Last week a close memeber of the family fell ill and today I received word that indeed, the ultimate end has come about today. That's right, my computer is DEAD!! It seems that my hard drive and mother board (among other things) is complete toast. It is now a very large and expensive paper weight. And ofcourse, the warrenty expired in FEBRUARY. I'm now thinking that one must buy a warrenty for the expected lifetime that one expects to keep the computer. So yesterday Miss Sunshine went off and picked herself up a new MacBook. I think she's just trying to rub it in! :p I'll show her though. I'm going to work on getting myself a new MacBookPRO. So HAA!!!

Well, wish me luck on everything, and keep me in your prayers to find a new job soon. As for my PC, may it rest in peace, and may a new Mac be born into my world soon.

Take care all.

News of the day

Well, it seems my blog is in hott demand by at least ONE person on the internet. And so, the greatest of all the few billion people on this planet shale get her wish! But what to type about? I suppose there are a few new things.

First and foremost, I’m going to be traveling to the Lone Star State again soon. I’ll be testing for yet another agency, trying to get a job and advance my hopes and dreams in life a little bit more. I keep telling myself that things are going to work out for what is best for me as long as I work as hard as I can to get there. Besides, I know I’m going to have a great time, no matter what. It seems that while I am down there I will be attending a wine tasting in which I will be the DD (designated decoy?) for the rest of the gang of hooligans I will be attending with. I will also be going to an 80s themed party. I’m thinking Miami Vice with a fanny pack should work well. If not that I could always wear my best suite and be the American Gigolo. Any other ideas?

Secondly, my friend Ben just took off for a hike along part of the Appalachian Train sometime this morning. He’s planning on hiking for a little over a week, all by himself. At first I thought he was crazy, but the more I think about it I kind of respect him for doing it. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still crazy, but he’s also pretty gutsy, ambitious, and willing to conquer his dreams. Sometimes that little shit is a bit of a hero to me. I just hope he doesn’t get eaten by a bear. He may not be very meaty, but he’s lean, for those bears that are on a diet.

Lastly (for now), I’m slowly coming back in time to my own age group. That’s right, I’m starting to find a little bit of fashion in my life. My little ray of sunshine has inspired me, and a few friends have helped me, find some new clothes without busting the bank or looking like an old man. It also doesn’t hurt that I can actually go shopping at some place like Hollister and find something that fits me. You know, those places aren’t exactly made for bigger guys!

Welp, I hope the sun is shining brightly upon all of your happy lives. Take care, and leave some love.

No Glory @ DPD

No glory for me at DPD. For reasons yet unknown to me DPD will not be my home for years to come.

Fear not though. I still have my buckle shined up and ready to ride again. My spurs aren't going to be hung up any time soon. This is yet another bump in the broken road that is surely taking me where I need and want to be. An old cowboy song once said:

I've got a long list of real good reasons
For all the things I've done
I've got a picture in the back of my mind
Of what I've lost and what I've won
I've survived every situation
Knowing when to freeze and when to run
And regret is just a memory written on my brow
And there's nothing I can do about it now.

Thanks for all the support from those who have been there, esp. Miss Sunshine. Keep it coming though, because I'm not done yet!

What About BOB??

So what about Bob? Well, first off he’s an absolutely amazing man. However, considering the gaggle of people that waddle their way over to my blog from time to time, I doubt this is news. Bob is also a pretty understanding guy, in addition to being insightful and witty. Even though this isn’t much news to anyone you’re probably wondering where the heck I’m coming from with this.

It all started the other day when Little Miss Sunshine (Kate) sent me an email entitled “Why I Love My Step dad.” I read through Bob’s prose on the flat tire incident and found him to be very witty (as mentioned above). I then foolishly decided to try my hand at said wit and wisdom myself, and started to compose an email of similar folly to Miss Sunshine. Letter typed and SEND; she’s got mail. And there began my trip down foolishness lane.

You see, I didn’t check the “TO:” section of my composition. That’s right, it didn’t go to my intended target, but rather to BOB!! Yep, I sent my reply to Kate to Bob instead. He, of course, read it and replied to her in kind. It would seem he thought it to be funny, and witty (a bit), and got a good laugh out of it. I, on the other hand, nearly fell out of my chair when I found out it didn’t go to the right person. I was suddenly trying to remember what it was that I had typed, and wanted nothing more than to have access to my email right there in the middle of rehearsal. I just knew that I had said something completely inappropriate for the unintended target, and that I was going to be cast out of the picture before I was even allowed to hold the camera. But I had typed a decent email, and all is well that ends well I guess. I was also fortunate enough to have sucked up to Bob without knowing that’s what I was doing. I put in a little line about how great of a guy he is, and he liked that.

Moral of the story kids: know EXACTLY whom you’re sending your emails too. Check it twice!

Oh my

Isn't she lovely?!?!

I can't believe I had the good fortune to have this lovely lady on my arm as we entered a wonderful restaurant the other evening. She looked so lovely, and everyone we passed looked up at her. I couldn't have been more proud or excited. The only thing better was that she let me capture the look a few hours later.

My luck couldn't get any better!

It seems I’ve found something new in my life that tends to take me away from all kinds of things, from work to working out, and I think I’m starting to like it.

She makes me happy.

Second time, Twice as Nice

Welp, I may just be on my way back to Texas sooner than I thought. I've got another agency to try and get a job with. Not only does this increases my chances of getting work, but I get to see Kate again. How lucky can one guy be?
